ISL Engineering and Land Services – ASET’s Technical Employer of the Year (2016)

Edmonton - ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL) wins Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (ASET) Technical Employer of the Year award.

Every year, this award is given to an employer for their outstanding contribution to technology and recognizes organizations that excel at supporting, promoting, utilizing and rewarding technicians and technologists.

"We were really pleased to be recognized with this award because it represents what is most important about ISL – that we have truly great people – people that are passionate, well trained, have the right tools and work tirelessly to meet our clients’ challenges," states Randy Heaps, ISL's Chief Operations Officer. “It is the award’s recognition of our passionate people – our ISLers – that has made it such an honour to receive.

ISL is a company of consulting engineers and land services professionals who are committed to inspiring sustainable thinking in transportation, land and water projects for the public and private sectors. ISL's collaborative approach solves the infrastructure challenges associated with community growth.

Established in 1983, ISL has offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Canmore, Grande Prairie, Rossland, Fernie, Squamish, Langley, Burnaby and Saskatoon. With expertise in transportation, structural—bridges, municipal, water and wastewater, landscape architecture, land development, land use planning, structural—buildings, geomatics and environmental management, ISL collaboratively solves the infrastructure challenges faced by growing communities.

According to ASET, it is in part due to ISL's support of the continued professional development of technicians and technologists.

The award also recognizes ISL as an industry leader for its continued integration of technology. ISL works to integrate the latest technology into projects where it increases efficiency and helps meet client needs. Ultimately, integration of new technology ensures ISL teams have the best tools to do their jobs and clients receive the best results.

ISL has used technology including 3D visualization such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technology, 3DOM-IS (Operations and Maintenance Information System) and Virtual Reality (VR) simulators, as well as municipal system modelling technologies including MIKE URBAN, MIKE FLOOD, XP-SWMM (including 2D) and more.
