EDMONTON, AB, November, 2016 - ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL) is pleased to be named among the Best Small and Medium Employers in Canada. This marks the fifth time ISL has made the Best Employers list.
"When you are passionate about what you do, your organization attracts passionate and engaged people,” Randy Heaps, ISL's Chief Operating Officer. "We take our culture very seriously and have been mindful of growth and the affect fast paced growth may have on culture. As we continue to grow, we will work to maintain the high regard staff have for their clients, their communities and for each other."
ISL fosters its culture with unique opportunities for staff across all 11 offices to get together.
The rankings are primarily determined by using the results from Employee Opinion Surveys. The evaluation process also includes the assessment of organizational practices and perspectives from the leadership team. This year, more than 200 organizations across Canada participated in the study.
"We take advantage of a yearly Staff Development Seminar to get staff together to have fun and celebrate everyone’s hard work," says Sharon Gall, ISL's Human Resources Manager. "Nothing beats face to face communication for building strong bonds across offices and disciplines."
The methodology behind the Aon Best Employers in Canada Study reflects more than 20 years of learnings and best practices from Aon Best Employer and employee engagement studies conducted all over the world, relying on data collected in more than 150 markets from over 5,000 organizations in 68 industries, including over 735,000 employees and more than 600 companies of all sizes in Canada. Using the stringent global standards developed for Aon’s Global Best Employer Program, each participant’s employee survey scores on engagement, leadership, performance culture and employment brand were assessed against Aon Hewitt’s Canadian Survey Database and the opinions of Canadian employees. Small and medium sized employers Risk. Reinsurance. Human Resources. (organizations with between 50 to 399 employees) who score in the top 25% of the Canadian database achieved the Platinum level, while those who score in the top third achieved Gold level.
