About This Project
Located on one of Whistler’s finest ski-in/ski-out properties, this Nordic Drive home was built to the highest standard with incomparable attention to detail. The 5,750 sq. ft. home was designed by famed Vancouver architect Paul Merrick, with structural engineering by ISL and fine millwork detailing by Spearhead Timberworks.
This modern timber frame building is structurally optimized for thin lines while meeting the demands of heavy snow loads typical of the Whistler setting. The use of timber is paramount to the architectural feel and mountain appeal of this residence.
Timber connects to the integrated steel frames of the lateral load resisting system and feature wall of glass. The connections are highly detailed for low visual impact and seamless integration with the structural steel components. The result is an exquisite timber expression, inside and out.
Unexposed structure was chosen to be of conventional wood frame construction for greater economy, easy construction and integration with other building systems.
