About This Project

The development of the North Lethbridge Regional Park presented the City of Lethbridge with the opportunity to create an innovative and vibrant addition to Lethbridge’s dynamically growing community. Encompassing 29 hectares and with a projected budget of $17 Million, this three staged development will provide a unique range of facilities and amenities.

Collaborating with the City of Lethbridge, ISL is providing detailed design that will build on community ideas and inspiration captured during the site selection process, needs assessment, public engagement and concept plan.

One of the important planning concepts was to create an all-season park with less focus on traditional seasonal recreational activities and encourage children to play and explore their natural surroundings in a less structured way.

The ultimate park design incorporates an outdoor performance space, a spray park, an outdoor skating rink, picnic areas, sports courts and fields, a skate-park, a naturalistic playground, parking lots, a market area and ponds. This multi-faceted project provides a unique mix of features that blends both urban and natural environments, as well as historical elements with contemporary design. Once completed, the North Lethbridge Regional Park will be living extension of the slogan ‘a park of the people, by the people, for the people.’
