Project Profile
Grand Boulevard and East Keith Road
ISL was retained to complete the detailed design, tender administration and construction review services for a 2.2 km section of the City of North Vancouver’s Green Necklace Greenway. The Green Necklace is a 7 km long urban greenway that surrounds the City’s Central Lonsdale Town Centre. It links components of the City’s recreational and open space assets by means of a safe, alternative transportation system.
The project scope included a new multi-use pathway, on-street bike lanes, full road widening, regrading and five intersection reconfigurations along East Keith Road Corridor and separated off-street bike and pedestrian paths along the Grand Boulevard Corridor linear park. Work also entailed the introduction of new street lights, site furnishings, trees and planting beds along the Greenway.
21 and 23 Streets
ISL delivered stakeholder and public engagement, design, tendering and construction review services for a 2.3 km section of the Green Necklace, along 21 and 23 Streets. The route passes through residential, parkland, commercial and institutional areas. Phase 1 of this project was completed in 2017 with Phase 2, the final leg of the Green Necklace, completed in 2018.
The project scope included a new multi-use pathway, roadway reconfiguration and enhanced crosswalks, retaining structures, street lights, site furnishings, trees and planting beds.
New roadway design minimized parking loss and a robust community engagement process addressed public concerns.
