About This Project
ISL led the structural and civil design for the Calgary Zoo’s Canadian Wilds redevelopment, focusing on technical and environmental excellence. The project included secure fencing, an entry feature, interpretive zones, and a polar bear habitat with concrete pools, streams, an outlook, moat, amphitheatre, and a life support building.
Additionally, it involved constructing retail and washroom facilities, and new homes for caribou and whooping cranes. The design was intricate, expansive, and adhered to high standards, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for both animals and visitors. The project was delivered under the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model.
